DESCRIPTION
Koh-i-Sultan is a mountain and volcanic complex in the far northwest of Balochistan Province, Pakistan. Koh-i-Sultan is located in the volcanic-arc of the Indo-Eurasian collision zone, north of the impressive surface fold belts. Historically the volcanic complex was active between about 60 million and 100-thousand years ago, with three main volcanic cones and numerous volcanic plugs and lesser cones formed as a result. The sand in the top of this image originate from the Registan Desert of Afghanistan.
