Qaidam Basin, China

Qaidam Basin is located within Qinghai Province in the northwest of China. Qaidam Basin is situated to the southeast of the larger Tarim Basin of the Tibetan Plateau. The circular aeolian landforms that pock the surface in this basin are termed 'yadan' and might also be called sandstone forests.
